A fully recognised, registered, and accredited university by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in Malawi.
LAMAU was established in May 2014 following a resolution by the College for Christian Ministries (CCM) board. A dedicated technical team comprising the late Prof. Leonard Kamwanja (Chair, MHSRIP), Rev. Andrew Sumani (Secretary), Dr. Timothy Ngwira, and Mr. Francis Makoza spearheaded the formal establishment process. Their recommendations were endorsed by the Diocesan Standing Committee (DSC).
The university operates from two campuses: CCM in Lilongwe, which has hosted affiliated programs including those from the University of Malawi, and St Anne's Nursing College (SANCO) in Nkhotakota, currently being revitalized through efforts by the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi, CHAM, and other stakeholders.
Our mission is to provide high-quality education in Theology, Nursing and Midwifery, Commerce, Education, and other disciplines through teaching, research, outreach, and consultancy. We aim to foster professionalism and actively contribute to national development by partnering with regulatory bodies and stakeholders both locally and internationally.
To become a leading institution of higher learning, nationally and internationally recognized for transforming lives and cultivating leadership through biblically grounded, innovative, and compassionate education and service delivery.
